Hot Takes on Ice: The Flash

We’re back for a special reunion! The Flash was such a bad movie we had to get back together to talk about it. We’ll have a full episode Monday as well!

I’m running a Backerkit campaign for The Night Clerk zine, a modern horror RPG scenario – 44 full color pages of architectural horror.

In case you missed it, the entire Mixed Six catalogue is now mirrored on archive.org.

All of the main episodes are here.

All of the Patreon bonus episodes are here.

All of the Hot Takes on Ice and other mini-episodes and specials are here.

Join the Mixed Six Discord Server, now open to the public to discuss this episode and catch up with the community.

Hot Takes on Ice: State of the Podcasters

Producer Ross and Birk have finally launched the Patreon for Night Clerk Radio.

Go check it out if you haven’t already. Caleb also has a LOT of announcements and a pretty big life-change coming up, so we spend the episode getting all our listeners caught up to speed.

SPECIAL Hot Takes on Ice: Origins 2019 w/ Blue Peg, Pink Peg

Hi y’all! We just got back from Origins 2019. While we were there, we had a chance to sit down with Patrick from Blue Peg, Pink Peg. We talked about the convention, our most exciting finds, and trends in the board gaming industry with one of it’s most established media personalities.

Listen in to get a preview of what to expect in the tabletop market at Gencon and in the coming year. If you haven’t yet, check out Blue Peg, Pink Peg. You can find their podcast here and here. On Twitter, find Patrick @BluePegPinkPeg

Special thanks to Adam from Roleplaying Exchange for loaning us his recording equipment while we were out in the wild. Find Roleplaying Exchange on Patreon and here; on Twitter @RPExchange.

Extra Hot Takes on Ice: Metatopia 2017

Spencer and I went to Metatopia for the first time to playtest our new game, Party Fowl. It’s a nifty little convention that not a lot of people get to attend, so we thought we would share our thoughts with an extra, free Hot Takes on Ice episode.

Hot Takes on Ice 2: Legion, Weirdness, and Fan Responsibility

Thanks to the fantastic listener feedback, we’re going to add Hot Takes on Ice into regular rotation. The plan is to record at least two a month (maybe more) everytime we lay down a regular episode. While we wait for Producer Ross to do his editing magic, we’ll drop the mini-casts immediately so you can get that fresh-from-the-grill, whiskey-fueled commentary to ease the wait.

In the future, we’re going to make access to the Hot Takes on Ice minicast a new reward for patrons donating $6 or more a month. This latest one is free though; everyone can try before they buy.

In the episode, we talk about the new reward level, the FX show Legion, and our irrational fixation with Fireball.

Let us know what you think in the comments and, as always, thank you for the support!

Hot Takes on Ice: SuperBowl Ads

We’re trying something new! Our wonderful patrons often suggest segment topics that are way too topical for our production schedule. Talking about current events with our current recording arrangement mean episodes wouldn’t drop until months later.

Luckily, we like hard alcohol too! In Hot Takes on Ice, Spence and Caleb discuss a current event over a drink. It’s a mini-cast that doesn’t require much editing: we record it and drop it the next day. Hopefully, this will fufill our patrons desire for what’s in the news.

We’re still trying to avoid staring into the abyss of the modern political arena, so in our pilot episode we’re talking about something that’s been bothering Caleb: how should we feel about these new Super Bowl Ads?

This is an experiment. We might add it to the rewards schedule, we might not. Let us know what you think in the comments.
